SCOTTISH businesses look set to reap big rewards following VisitScotland's novel approach to promoting events and conferences north of the Border.
'Scotland on Tour' saw representatives from several Scottish businesses travel by coach to meet with nearly 100 event organisers throughout the Midlands.
A series of on-board appointments arranged by VisitScotland's Business Tourism Unit took in stops at Birmingham, Worcester, Coventry, Nottingham, Derby and Leicester.
Over the course of two days, the businesses met with 92 event organisers, with £200,000 worth of enquiries already received as a result.
Moira Unwin from VisitScotland's BTU said: "Scotland is one of the world's premier conference destinations, boasting cutting-edge facilities, stunning venues and a million reasons for delegates to extend their stay. While a familiarisation trip sees businesses come to Scotland, this is the next best thing - we take Scotland to them.
"Business tourism is worth £1.9b to the Scottish economy, but we can't stand still. Scotland on Tour provides Scottish businesses with invaluable face-to-face meetings with top event organisers across the country."
