THE Scottish tourism industry faces a 'significant challenge' to achieve its target of 50 per cent growth by 2015, it has been claimed.
In a report to the Scottish Parliament by the Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee, members blame economic circumstances and lack of awareness amongst the industry for making it hard to realise the ambition.
The report was the result of an inquiry into the feasibility of meeting the Scottish Government's ambition for a 50 per cent increase in revenue from tourism by 2015.
