Signpost announce winners of their special Best in Class 'Hotel of the Year' Award




The winners of the prestigious Hudson's Heritage Awards were announced yesterday. Established in 2011, the awards are an independently judged annual national scheme open to historic houses, gardens, museums and heritage sites. Signpost, the UK's longest established hotel guide, also presented three awards for 'Best in Class Hotel of the Year'. Signpost was acquired by Hudsons in 2013 and has been promoting the UK's finest hotels since 1935 making it the longest continually published hotel guide in the country.

Signpost is delighted to announce that the winner of Best in Class for Best Hotel was awarded to Dart Marina Hotel and Spa in Darmouth. The winner of Best in Class for Best Spa and Leisure was awarded to The Coniston Hotel, Country Estate & Spa in the Yorkshire Dales and the winner for Best in Class for Best Dining Experience was awarded to Langar Hall situated in the Vale of Belvoir in Nottinghamshire.

The Hall is the family home of Imogen Skirving, whose father used to entertain famous cricketers of the 1930's. Langar still attracts cricket lovers and famous old cricketers. The charming proprietor and her excellent team make every effort for their guests' happiness. Chef Gary Booth & his team work hard to produce excellent, reasonably priced menus of French and English food, using local produce, garden vegetables and herbs, Langar lamb, local stilton and game from the Belvoir estate. The assessor, who has visited this Hotel over a dozen times in the last 10 years, has always had an exceptional experience and believes this hotel is a worthy winner.
