The British Motor Museum will host the popular Classic Van & Pick Up Show when it returns for its fourth year on Sunday 6 August. The show, which is dedicated to light commercial vehicles including pickups, ice-cream vans, campers, taxi's, hearses and police cars, will also incorporate the 11th year of the Transit Van Clubs annual Rally which takes place on the 5 & 6 August.
Around 400 vehicles including those from The Transit Van Club, The Post Office Vehicle Club, the Morris J Type Register and the Morris Commercial Club are expected to take part. All classic light commercial vehicles including custom street vans are welcome. This year sees the 60th Anniversary of the introduction of the Ford 400E in 1957 and the event is hoped to have in excess of 35 Ford 400E's. All 400E's, no matter what their condition are welcome, even vehicles having to be brought on trailers. For further information on the 400E event please contact Nick Searson via email at
The Transit Van Club Rally will take place over the weekend and is an opportunity for the club members to get together. The weekend will feature a seminar about the Ford Transit on the Saturday with a full vehicle display on the Sunday joining with the Classic Van and Pick Up Show; a true Transit weekend away.
Tom Caren, Show Manager for the British Motor Museum stated "The Classic Van and Pick Up Show is one of my personal favourites, having owned a number of classic vans myself over the last 20 years. Visitors can spend the entire weekend meeting like-minded people who have a passion for these commercial vehicles and can get up close and enjoy these commercials!".
Tickets for the Show & Rally cost £14 for adults, £9 for children and £39 for a family. Vehicle entry is free provided it is pre booked and a classic vehicle or Ford Transit is entered. Discounted tickets are available in advance online. Camping is just £10 per person for 1 or 2 occupants when booked in advance or £15 per person on the day. For 3 or more people the price is £25 per pitch when booked in advance or £35 per pitch on the day.
