Magic at Milestones

MAGIC and illusion is casting a spell over visitors to Milestones, the living history museum in Basingstoke's Leisure Park.
The magic theme was conjured up early in November and is entertaining families with live performances and optical illusions. Youngsters can make a magic wand and dress up as a witch or wizard, helping celebrate the 25th birthday of comic book character Winnie the Witch. Or, they can 'meet' a Dalek as they follow a time trail from Dr Who's Tardis.
Would-be wizards can also pre-book a place at an expert magic workshop and discover how to amaze friends and family with tricks.
The museum's network of streets with their full-size replicas of original buildings, shops, an Edwardian alehouse and other businesses that existed across Hampshire will remain open as usual throughout the magic event, as will the 1950s style cafè and gift shop - with magic themed items for sale.
Father Christmas will have a gift for children visiting his grotto over the weekends of December 8-9 and 15-16 December (extra fee). Magic at Milestones continues until January 6, 2013.
