Discover the new British Motoring Treasures Exhibition and enjoy a treasure trove of family activities this summer at the British Motor Museum from 22 July to 3 September. Visitors can explore the new exhibition and become treasure hunters with a new family Treasure Trail - search for treasure chests around the Museum and find out about the hidden stories behind the collection as you go!
Every Monday families can get to know Lady Edwards, Chauffeur William or Clippies Mavis and Mable as the Costumed Explainers bring the collection to life with engaging interactive plays about Britain's motoring past. Whilst from Tuesday to Saturday visitors can make their own Motoring Treasures in family craft workshops.
Every day there are Family Museum Tours at 1:30pm delivered by a costumed character as well as the opportunity for visitors to be part of their 'My first car' project. Whether you're learning to drive a pedal car or had your license for years the Museum is keen to hear about everyone's first car - what it looks like and how it drives - real or fantasy - create a drawing or compose a few words.
There is also an outdoor play and picnic area for visitors to enjoy, plus the opportunity to sit in Shaun the Sheep's Land Rover in the Collections Centre. Here you can get a 'behind the scenes' look at how the Museum preserve and store its car collection and see the Restoration Workshop in action (Monday to Friday).
All the summer holiday activities are included in the Museum admission price and are drop in sessions with no pre-booking required. However during busy periods the activities may move to a timed ticket basis so to avoid disappointment please check on arrival as places are limited and subject to availability. Annual Passes are valid for all summer holiday dates (22 July to 3 September) with the exception of the BMW Festival on 13 August.
