THE Quiet Site Holiday Park near Ullswater in the Lake District has won Cumbria Tourism's 2012 award for Sustainable Tourism - a major recognition of its success in combining green values with a high quality visitor experience.
In the same week, it also attained a Gold level Green Tourism Business Scheme accreditation and believes it may be the first Cumbrian holiday park to attain the Gold grading.
Owner Daniel Holder said: "We are thrilled to win the Cumbria Tourism Sustainable Tourism Award and are celebrating this as a team, as all of our employees are engaged in the sustainable programme that we operate here and all act as ambassadors, on hand to explain practices to guests who take an interest."
