The Barn at Holmfirth went under a full refurbishment and re-construction in 2008, with the new works being completed in early May 2008, the works carried out had transformed this traditional Yorkshire stone barn into what has been described by tourism officers as "luxurious" and "a dream place to live". The Barn itself is ideally situated for walkers to explore the Holme valley and the beautiful Peak District. Many walks of all abilities are just outside the front door of the barn. The property is located 1 mile form the village centre of Holmfirth and its famous attractions such as Sid's cafe and Nora Batty's house and the very quaint 'Last of the summer Wine' museum. Holmfirth itself is the largest village in the Holme valley and boasts numerous shops, bars, restaurants and cafe's; we urge any visitor to support local businesses. The Barn is a 1 minute walk from the local real ale pub, with stunning views as you walk to the pub. The local Co-op store is opposite the pub and caters for everything required for a self catering holiday. Also around the corner from The Barn is a local small holding offering free range eggs and also a friendly chat about all things Holmfirth. ALL linen and towels are provided and all utilities such as gas, electricity, water are included. Just bring your suitcase, un-pack, un-wind and enjoy your new surroundings.
