Heritage Railway Association

The Heritage Railway Association is the trade association for the heritage and tourist railways in the UK and Ireland. We represent over 100 railways in the Uk.
An important part of the activities of the Association to the travel trade of those railways who welcome groups from coach and tour operators and group travel organisers.
As part of this promotional activity we publish a "Guide to Steam and Tourist Railways" and an annual Travel Trade Manual which provides relevant information for over 40 railways.
There is a heritage railway within easy reach of most parts of the UK and a visit to include a ride on a heritage steam train can provide a pleasant and interesting interlude on a tour or group visit. Most railways are located in scenic areas with some running within National Parks.
Arrangements for groups , subject to prior booking, include reserved accommodation on trains and reduced group rate fares. Special interest groups may have the opportunity for a "behind the scenes" tour on some railways.
The operation of special trains for large groups will always be considered and for the smaller group who require something special there are "Wine & Dine trains and Sunday Luncheon specials on many railways. Some railways can also offer conference facilities.
The Associations website (www.heritagerailways.com) will provide a link to individual members for more detailed information include dates of operation and timetable details.
